For too many years, dietary fat has been blamed for weight gain and poor health. Research continues to show this connection was completely backwards. In fact, fat is a high octane source of energy for our bodies and we need fat to be healthy. When we incorporate healthy fats into our diet while reducing carbohydrates, our bodies actually burn unwanted fat, provide endless energy, and help us feel amazing inside and out.

Low carbohydrate diets, such as the ketogenic diet are often done incorrectly. A lack of professional guidance can lead to an unsustainable and sometimes unhealthy outcome. There is no cookie-cutter approach to dieting and the ketogenic diet is no exception. My Fat-Fueled Life focuses on diet diversity by tailoring a nutrition lifestyle that works for you.

I'm a registered dietitian in Utah and the owner of Sugar House Nutrition LLC. I provide nutritional support for people wanting to reap the many health benefits of the ketogenic (keto) diet. My passion for keto began working with children with severe epilepsy. Witnessing the incredible benefits for this population empowered my study for other potential benefits in health and disease. The keto diet has been criticized as being "unsustainable" and "impractical" however, I believe that with the right guidance the keto diet can become a healthy lifestyle option instead of another diet fad. While working with clients, I provide the support of a well-formulated and personalized diet plan that supports the nutritional diversity of each individual to provide healthy living that's achievable and sustainable!

The ketogenic (keto) diet has become the most popular diet of 2018 and continues to be widely studied and gaining significant interest as a lifestyle tool to promote health and longevity. The keto diet offers a wide range of studied health benefits beyond weight loss such as:

By the end of the workshop, attendees will learn and appreciate the following:

  • • The enormous range of benefits that come with an effective state of ketogenic adaptation
  • • What critical steps are needed in order to successfully adopt and maintain this dietary approach
  • • What foods can help optimize the most effective state of ketosis possible, and what foods are likelier to interfere
  • • Why some ketogenic diets fail

Come learn how keto is unlike any other diet that has ever existed and the critical steps needed to turn it into a healthy way-of-eating, instead of just another failed attempt at losing weight.

The workshop is lead by Tara Finnerty RDN, CD, a registered and licensed clinical dietitian and ketogenic specialist with 6 years of clinical ketogenic experience. Tara is a regular contirbutor to hip2keto.com and has been featured on KSL5, ABC, and Fox13.

The workshop will be 4 hours long over two consecutive Saturdays lasting 2 hours each. In addition, participants will receive a complete ketogenic guide with all the tools and tips to help you on your journey.
